Candidate is responsible for identifying, controlling and eliminating HSE issues for all VHY locations that may pose a threat to workers, environment or communities. The Manager consults with others to formulate safety policies and procedures, leads investigations of incidents/accidents and oversees the HSE auditing program for the detection and elimination of existing or potential accidents.
 
Health, Safety & Environment Manager - Field Operations (FO) (4 openings)
This position requires 75% travel across the United States
Tasks & responsibilities
  • Effectively communicates safety and environmental requirements to the workforce and management. Responsible for complete OSHA, DEP, EPA compliance and exceeding of standards.
  • Designs, improves and implements site and functional safety, health and environmental programs that perpetually improves organization safety results.
  • Accountable and leader of implementing all required and designed safety measurements and information systems.
  • Designs, improves and implements a root-cause hazard and injury process and system which perpetually improves underlying site conditions.
  • Designs, improves & implements behavioral, hazard condition, workforce fitness & safety as a ?life style? programs & processes which result in improved & successful safety outcome
  • Monitoring injured workers on duty to ensure any instructions for modified duties are followed & ensures that any injured employee is returned to work while eliminating lost time.
 
Candidate requirements
  • B.S. in Health & Safety or equivalent of education, professional certifications and experience.
  • Must have strong computer MS Office, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with an proven safety and health track record.
  • OSHA 30 (500)Certified trainer or shall become certified within 1 year of service.
  • Desired, Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.) certification.
  • Maybe on site for several weeks or even months during start ups but a minimum of 5 days to conduct training & assist the Site Leadership team in setting up all required HSE plans.
  • Your primary office location will be based out of your home location, at times there maybe a necessity for you to work out of the York Headquarters in between jobs or when directed
