Staffing Specialist

Tasks & responsibilities
  • Posts, recruits, screens and interviews internal and external applicants to fill current or expected job vacancies.
  • Notifies applicants of consideration or rejection and fulfills all selection process communication requirements with candidates and hiring departments.
  • Conducts and scores, or arranges for, testing of applicants, records results and other relevant information including post offer, drug screen, reference checks & background check
  • Prepares and extends job offers, prepares and/or authorizes appropriate approvals and paperwork, acquires appropriate approvals and authorizations for selection, compensation, etc
  • Will handle hiring of interns, contractors and 3rd party contractors. Will negotiate bill/rates with companies in line with Voith's budget constraints.
  • Help to find and process paperwork for government grants for hire including the HIRE Act.
 
Candidate requirements
  • BA or BS in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field. PHR certification is preferred.
  • Candidate should have at least 3 years of previous staffing experience in both craft labor and engineering positions.
  • Candidate should have experience in an ATS, posting sites (Monsters, Yahoo, Colleges, etc.), sourcing and
  • Must have great attention to detail, excellent computer skills and the ability to listen and build relationships.
  • Candidate will also be responsible for EEO and AAP compliance.
  • Previous experience working in a union environment is preferred but not required.
