| Tasks & responsibilities |
- Prepares designs or modifications of full range of products plus handles special assignments where there is a lack of precedents.
- Coordinates design preparation and develops design schedules for project type assignments.
- Investigates new concepts for practicality, economy, and operating efficiency. Reviews cost estimates and recommends appropriate action.
- Determines design changes, modifications, and standardization to facilitate manufacture at an economical, competitive level.
- Operates CAD/CAE equipment to complete work assignments. Creates 3D solid models of components and assemblies. Assist Drafters with the use of 3D solid models.
- Disposition of non-conforming materials, machined/fabricated components and assemblies, and installed/tested assemblies as to adequacy for use.

| Candidate requirements |
- At least a BS degree from an Accredited school. Master's Degree encouraged to apply.
- Thorough knowledge of machine design, stress analysis and skill to work effectively with computer-aided software.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in hydro turbine or other large rotating equipment.
Mechanical Design and analysis of new and existing hydro products, support to Manufacturing and Field Operations and interface with customers & suppliers. Electrical, Generator and Automation Engineering positions may also become available. |
