| Tasks & responsibilities |
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.
- Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.

| Candidate requirements |
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Previous machining experience is required but heavy manufacturing experience is a plus!
- Must be able to pass a working physical.
Voith is looking for a skilled machinist to work 2nd or 3rd shift. Journeyman Machinist or Journeyman Tool and Die Papers are preferred by not required. Starting rate with Journeyman Papers is $21.90/hr without papers the starting wage is $20.69. |
